This is the music box that plays Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite while the ballet’s central figure dances. Inspired by Russian Master Natalia Zaitseva’s renowned Palekh black-lacquer technique, the box is crafted from lustrous, triple-fired porcelain decorated with details including a raised relief, 22K gold accents, and 40 hand-set faux jewels. An 18-note, key-wound musical movement faithfully plays the classic holiday song while a handpainted pewter centerpiece of Clara twirls while holding her beloved nutcracker.
