This is the kit that lets aspiring mechanics build a working model of a 1966 Flat Six Boxer engine—the power behind the legendary Porsche 911. The kit’s 280 parts snap and screw together easily to form a 1/4 scale model of the 2.0 liter engine with multiple moving components. Once assembled, the transparent casing allows a view of LEDs that simulate spark plugs firing, a working distributor, spinning cooling fan, and more—there’s even a sound module that roars just like a genuine boxer engine. The easy-to-follow manual provides additional details and clear explanations of technical concepts that fueled the design of Porsche’s iconic roadster. Requires three AA batteries. Ages 14 and up. 17 1/4" L x 12 1/2" W x 5" D.
